Who Are the Teachers?


Tim O’Hare T.C.R.G. , A.D.C.R.G. is an accomplished Irish dancer, who won 6 National championships and 2 World championships. He started the O’Hare School of Irish Dance in 1979 in Plymouth Michigan. In 1984, he opened two new schools in Cleveland and Akron, then further expanded the school to Chicago in 1996. Currently he has more than 600 students enrolled in the Plymouth, Chicago and Akron/Cleveland schools. Tim O’Hare has dedicated himself to the growth and development of young Irish dancers for more than 28 years, and his teaching success has been recognized by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. Tim’s students have won Midwest, National, All-Ireland and World Championships. Some have appeared in the stage shows Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, and danced at the White House on St. Patrick’s Day, 1999. Tim adjudicates Irish dance competitions throughout the United States, and was honored to have been chosen to adjudicate the 2008 World Championships in Belfast. In 2008 Tim was honored by his teaching colleagues in the Irish dance community for his 25 years of teaching, service and leadership. His dedication and commitment to excellence in teaching Irish Dance makes the O’Hare School the success that it is today!

Eileen O'Kennedy-Dunlap T.C.R.G. is a world qualifying dancer and has been teaching Irish Dance with the O'Hare School since 1998. In 2003 Eileen expanded the school to the Cleveland area followed by a second expansion to the Medina area in 2007. Eileen, a mother of 3 including a 2-time Midwest Champion, has instructed World, National and Midwestern Champions in both solo and ceili (group) dance. Eileen most recently coached an under 12 ceili team that medaled at the World Championships in April of 2009 followed by a 2nd place win at the North American National Championships in July 2009.
